The hammer model browser or hlmv?

The model browser for Hammer. When I bring it up, it's all a mess of black and white rectangles, although it does display a model.

I'd be able to manage if I just had a text list of the model paths, but I don't know if such a thing exists.

There is the prop library with ABS's mapping pack, which is just a map file (well, 3) with all the stock props for you to copy and paste from. More effective than a text list.

As for your problem, I have not heard of it. Sorry,

Have you tried verifying game cache, running hammer from the .bat?

SourceScheme.res from any custom HUD can and will affect the hammer model browser. Delete it if you have one.

@Ally:
That might work, do you have a link to it?

@Seba:
Hooray! It works.

@Snowshoe:
Well, I didn't have any custom HUDs, so that wasn't the issue, but that's good to know for the future.

It appears my problem was caused by a bug in my Team Fortress 2 that erased the dispenser model. I just re-installed the game and it was fine.

Well it works now, and I can place models in the map and they show up in the editor, but when I play the map, some of the models don't show up in-game, being replaced with the "ERROR" placeholder model.

Nevermind, I figured out what the issue was: I had those models set as "prop_detail" when they should have been set as "prop_static".
