How does Valve make the map names show up differently?

Sorry about the bad title, but it's hard to describe this question with few words. :p

The file names for a few of Valve's maps include cp_gravelpit, pl_goldrush and pl_badwater.
However, during the loading screen, under "you're on your way to..." the names show up as Gravel Pit, Gold Rush and Badwater Basin, instead of Gravelpit, Goldrush and Badwater as the file names would suggest.

How do they do that? I'm curious because I'd rather have my map name show up as Smoke on people's screens rather than Smoke Stage1 A3 or something like that.

That's hardcoded into client.dll, I'm afraid. Not something we can put in the map.

I thought, that if it uses the standard prefixes, it automatically does it. I'm not to sure though.

The prefixes dissapear if you use a standard one (with the exception of arena) and _'s dissapear, but other than that there is no way to change what it displays :(

On the subject of removing prefixes, I wonder why they haven't bothered to make it so that the arena_ prefix is removed. For example, arena_lumberyard shows up as Arena Lumberyard.

I think since they've made it such a big thing (changing the server to it and everything) they decided to make people sure they were joining arena.
Also, for well granary and badlands it would have had to be "well(arena)", "badlands(arena)" and "granary(arena)" to avoid confusion between the other gametypes
