What is this error?

Try running hammer.bat again. It's an error where hammer can't find the default editor files, which I think come in the source shared stuff, not TF2.

I had to verify cache twice because for some reason my TF2 did not fully update.
Looks like the issue was solved when I ran Hammer again!

It is possible it happened because you were using Hammer when the recent TF2 update occurred. Hammer uses (and locks) the assets but Steam doesn't recognize this as a reason not to update, like running the game is, and as a result Steam merrily grabs the TF2 update and considers it done not realizing half the files didn't actually update because they were locked by Hammer. Then next time you go to run something it freaks out because stuff is corrupted... and you need to verify to complete the update.

Yes, I am also quite positive that this was the issue, but it was solved so thanks for replying! :)
