I need help recompiling a map. If I try to the compiler log freezes; and yes, I waited over half an hour and it was still frozen :p

I'll get a picture of where it is freezing in a minute. And, the map was made by my clan, they let me edit it and add/change things to make it better. :D

You can't... any decompiled map will be in such disarray that trying to recompile it without doing a near total rebuild using it as a blueprint is futile/impossible.

What Snark said, I'm afraid. The best use of decompile is reference, and to snag a nice piece of geometry from time to time.

try increasing/decreasing (i forget which) the default lightmap scale. I think decompiles set the grid to some real fine number which can cause you problems.

it may still be compiling, some parts can a very long time & can look as if your computer or program is frozen, but its not. It used to happen to me back in the day on my old P2 i thought Hammer kept freezing, haha.

Also i'd turn down RAD & VIS to "Fast" so it goes faster to test it.

But yea, recompiling a decompiled map is going to keep u busy with problems forever. Best to look at whatever you need & make it on your own after.
