I seem to be having a problem with my nvidia settings, apparently "nvappfilter.dll" is causing conflictions, causing recently updated drivers and executables to corrupt, crashing p2p programs and limiting my internet connectivity along with using a hell of a lot of my machines memory when ever it wants too. (A good thing i'm not using IE as apparently it is known to corrupt all incoming data for it, bad images, not being able to view websites properly etc).

I've looked around on the internet and the suggestions are:

1) Buy a new motherboard that isn't nvidia. (I don't think so..)
2) Uninstall the application and have no access to the internet from this machine. (Again, hardly a viable option)
3) Or use a menu panel for a driver called NAM (Network Access Manager). To disable my firewall manually.

The only problem with this last suggestion is that i don't appear have this option as it doesn't appear on my start menu like it's supposed to. It's as if i never installed it, though i seem to remember doing this back when i set up my new motherboard. All attempts to access any system menu's to bring up settings to edit this config tells me this thing simply isn't there to modify.

Apparently this firewall is nothing but trouble and it is advised not to install it; for those that have already, i have to uninstall my drivers using my disc and reinstall them choosing the option to not install this "NAM".

A problem also, as i seem to be missing this disc...... i can only find the vista version :cursing:

Has anyone else here had this trouble? I'm quite annoyed about this as the suggested fix should work (though for some people disabling the firewall doesn't work, a full system restore is required, along with rolling back any recently updated drivers) and the ability to do this fix is just.. not there for me. (typical).

I'm gonna keep an eye out for my motherboard disc.. but hopefully someone can help me sooner.

edit: Apparently removing NAM only stops me from hardware accelerating and from using SLI, which i kidna wanna keep. I should be able to stay online.. but i kinda wanna keep SLI and the only way to do that seem to be to do a full reinstall of all nvidia drivers. Which requires the original disc.

Ironic how NAM makes for a safer system, but makes it incredibly unstable!
