Hi guys! I'm an environment artist seeking a level designer, I have two shipped titles under my name and would like to team up with a fellow level designer.
I'd like to create something more fun than professional. I've done prop art modeling for a few years now, and I'd like to take a stab at recreating something retro for Team Fortress. I know that creating oddball maps like "Mario Kart", or anything else like that is rather frowned upon by the community, but they are so fun to play in! :p

As an artist, and player, I'd personally love to recreate the castle from "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past" in full out 3d. I'd like to re-imagine it in a TF2 style. We can "TF2-ify" it in the gameplay sense; spawn rooms and gamemodes and the such. I see it being really fun as a payload map starting from the entrance of the castle and ending at the dungeon where Zelda was held captive.

I would be willing to provide any and all assets for the content pipeline, including custom textures that are a mixup of Zelda and TF2. I can make the models, and textures look Zelda, but look like they belong in TF2.

Here is my portfolio.
I helped work on 95% all the models in "Scrap Squad" for iOS and Android devices. I also worked on QA for an iOS game called "The Godfather Slots".

I will respond to this thread; however, to get a faster responce and to talk directly to me, add me on Steam!

Wow, this is pretty cool. Even if you don't manage to find someone to work with - this is a pretty large project, for starters - I recommend you hang out around the Request Area and expand your portfolio by creating props on demand. It'd be nice and easy, and you might even be able to earn a little money in keys or something through bigger props.

It's going to be tricky to make this layout work.

EDIT: If it doesn't have to be Zelda, I once had an idea of Bonk vs. Dalokoh's Chocolate factories. Kind of like Slurm vs. Willy Wonka.

Now that's a good idea. Factories are interesting. And the themes are relevant to the game.

I'm still seeking a level designer, it doesn't have to be mario but I'd prefer if it were retro such as a Megaman stage or something else along those lines.

Any takers?
