Hi all.

I been trying to make a ladder in my map. I watched a few videos on youtube and they showed me a way to make one but when I try it, it dont seem to work for me.
Please tell me if I am doing this wrong and if I am, the right way to do it.

1. Place a ladder prop
2. Made a brush in front of the prop
3. Give the brush the ladder tool texture

I once experimented with a super-steep staircase using playerclip. I could run up walls like a ninja.

Thank you guys. I don't really need a ladder. I had got a ship in my map and what I wanted to do was have a ladder they could up if they fell off the ship. Thanks for your links teatime and fauks that would make at least 3 of my mvm server regulars very happy to do that.

I might do like I did when I made quake maps and put in a trigger_push and now that I think of that, I could probably setup a teleporter at the bottom of the ladder and have the destination at the top of it.

Wow mapping has not changed that much since quake 1 has it?

Make a staircase where ther steps are less than 16 units tall, but only 1 unit deep. That way your staircase is nearly vertical but players can still run up it.

Mapping has changed, the ladder stuff in source was never in TF2 so it isn't an option for us.

You could always place a teleporter at the bottom and one at the top if you want something more TF2 consistent
