We have the Japan content pack, which is seems to be mainly focused around a more rural Japan/Outer City style. But what about a more urban take on it? You know, lots of light up signs, tons and tons of colors, along with creative advertisements and characters on a lot of the signs.

I'll be working on some textures for now to see what I can come up with, while looking into Japanese Urban environments to see how they'd be able to be implanted into a map.

Remember that gameplay is still important. Too much clutter is a bad thing.

I imagine Tokyo wasn't quite as visually busy in 1970 as it is today. I was already skeptical that Kong King was an accurate period representation, not that I'd have a good idea what to check it against. For Tokyo... I dunno, old Godzilla movies I guess?

According to the TF2 Timeline/Comics. The game is coming up on the 1980's really soon, even still, Tokyo still looked interesting.

We don't exactly need to follow the real world sense ALL the time. TF2 has been known to exaggerate everything from maps, to locations, to it's own characters. So I don't think it'd be a huge deal to step outside that sense of perfect time now and then.

If you are really interested in doing it, you need to make a list of what you think it would contain, its all good linking images but you need to break the pictures down into the separate models.

Yeah I've been in pre-development for this theme for a bit, hopefully my next map will be themed this way. I'm having an interesting time trying to make it visually distinct enough from Soho though, especially for people that can't read hiragana and kanji and just see "asian characters"
