Lehigh Valley is a 5-cp map set in an alpine logging/lumberyard area, themed similar to Mountainlab. Gameplay is geared towards comp play. The layout is designed to provide fluid pushing into and out of areas. Each area has 2.5 entrances, with plenty of height differences to promote vertical gameplay.

The map's already seen a lot of private testing and iteration, now I'm ready to cast a wider net for feedback.

The last point look a bit granary-inspired. Keep in mind that for comp (atleast 6s if that is what you're aiming for) that is one of the hardest last's too push that are still in the rotation (besides snakewater).

I especially love the second point area. I haven't seen a map do what you did with that small rock plateau. It should make for some interesting attacking and defending.

I think you are getting the direction of pushing confused. Granary last is for the attackers easy to push into, but hard for the defenders to push out of. That being said, it's not really that big of an issue and is more of an excuse comp players use when they lose a round on Granary.

I like the name. I happen to live less than a mile away from the Lehigh Valley trail.

Okay, thanks, you probably know more than me about that.

No, New York. Either there is more than one Lehigh Valley or it's just really big.

Ah, yeah I didn't realize there was one in New York. The one in PA is home to Lehigh University and Moravian University if you've heard of them. Eastern PA.

Since you say you're aiming this map at competitive play, would you mind if I ran this in a couple of pick up games and see how well it plays?

Yeah, I fully expect more iteration to get the balance right. Oddly enough that point started out life looking more like an outdoor version of Gullywash last (without the part under the point).

Oh, I quite like what I'm seeing so far. We should test this, maybe in an impromptu? Or you could post it for a gameday.

Do you know when the next gameday is? I didn't see a thread up for it.

I'm guessing you live in PA? lol.

I don't, but I have family that lives in that area.

Of course. I'd love to get more feedback on how it plays.
