Hi everyone, I'm Bludeck.

I've been in source mapping for about 2 years, and altough I saw many tutorials about it, I haven't made many maps, but lately my urge to make maps came back, so I decided to begin making maps again for my favourite game: TF2.

I was searching for some tutorials about mapping, and I found this website, so I decided to register because this looks like a very nice community.

I actually live in Spain, and since English isn't my mother language, I may make some grammar mistakes, sorry about that.

So yeah, I hope to get better at mapping, make friends, have fun and all that crap. If you wanna add me on steam, here is my profile: http://steamcommunity.com/id/bludeck

And since surely nobody is going to read this read this... Pancakes.

Don't worry, I read your post! What is your favourite way to eat pancakes (Toppings, Types)? Also, do you have examples of some maps you've made previously?

Allow me to sell ourselves further to you, we run 'gamedays' every saturday where ~5 maps get tested avidly and get good feedback videos made a few days later, if you submit a map but aren't in the ~5 that get into the gamedays' 2 hours then you can still get some feedback if the server has players running (for example, this last week we got 11 maps tested before the server emptied). We also run 'impromptu' tests where, if you have a map to test, you can bug the donators or admins in the steam chat and if we get 3+ maps that need testing (as well as a host: donator/admin) then we'll run that small 'impromptu' test for those maps. If you ever get a map tested on our servers you can review the feedback for your map here. We also have a ton of guides written, which I'm assuming you know about now, but you can check the neat Grazr ones out here.

If you have any questions feel free to ask either here or in the steam chat! :)

Never said I eat them. Actually, I like staring at them. They are beautiful.

Well, Im not very proud of most of them, the only decent one is a map I made for HL2, the rest are mostly abandoned projects or maps that I made in one day and they are pretty shitty, so yeah, I don't think I have any good example :p. I'm actually making a TF2 map, which consists in an hybrid between cp and ctf (yeah, I know you guys don't like non-official game modes, so I guess that it also won't be a good example).

Oh, and thanks for all the links and info, although I already knew most of it :p

That was the status quo seemingly before my time, but I come from the mystical land of surf map making and have brung with me the interesting ideas of the non-standard map subforum and the possibility of a non-standard map showcase (probably not though). My point is, is that I can at least appreciate non-official game modes, since I've been making them over the last 5 years! ;)

Well, I may upload it to the non-standard maps workshop once it's finished... And if it's not shitty, of course.

Actually one of our earlier contests was for A/D CTF and maps which is a CP/CTF hybrid gamemode so i'd say we're pretty open to non-standard gamemodes. Maps that came from it were ctf_haarp which is probably that best known out of the bunch and it was also a contest for PLR maps which plr_nightfall, which is official these days, and plr_panic came from too.

Also, hi and welcome to the forum/community
