I am recreating the middle point of cp_well for my own purposes. I have all of the brushes/lights/models in the proper places but the lighting is still way off. I dont know what I am doing wrong but im sure someone here knows whats up

Well, decompiled maps are often a bit messed up.

I know that leaks can cause the lighting to look all wrong too. Have you checked to see if you have one?

I really dont think thats it. The props are supposed to have shadows as you can see from my images however there is no minimum light on brushes. I dont know how to fix this... anyone?

It doesn't hurt to try disabling the shadows. You could always turn them back on afterwards.

I have checked and rechecked and rechecked. I have used the pointfile tool to verify that there are no leaks.... I have no idea how to fix this at all. Does anyone have a clue? I am happy to send the file to anyone who wants to take a peek. please let me know. What other options could it be?

valve always compiles its maps with extra lightbounces. but still the difference is to big. Disabeling shadows might help, perhaps your ambient light settings?

I can almost guarantee its because of the shadows, just disable them for a test. It cant do any harm to see. massive props create massive black shadows like the ones you are seeing.

Definitely not a leak because a leak causes fullbright, AFAIK.

Could you explain why? That would be helpfull for other people. I kinda hate it when people just say "fixed", but that leaves other folks with the same problem in the blue.

Props stuck in geometry a bit? make an info_lighting in front of em and select that as the calculation source for lighting instead of the location of the prop itself.
