I tried to follow these directions and got an error. When I try to open Hammer Editor, it says "the configuration information for the game you're trying to edit is invalid or missing." If I run anyway, it crashes and says something about gameinfo.txt or vconfig. What to do?

I was able to open hammer in the first way you mentioned. Now I just have to configure this beast. It would be nice to get it to function like GtkRadiant, the tool I have been using to make Urban Terror maps for almost 3 years now.

Actually, can we have someone go in and rewrite that post to reflect the way people are supposed to do things now? For that matter, maybe we should check all our pinned threads for posts like this.
