A brilliant idea for an MVM map I've been thinking of for a while: A map set in low earth orbit. One of Mann Co.'s space stations is under attack by the robots, and the team has been shipped out into orbit to deal with them.

The carrier tank could simply be a spaceship version. I'd just love to fight robots in sterile metal corridors, not unlike a Star Destroyer's interior. It's a creative idea, hasn't really been done before (much), and it sounds like fun.

You could also do a version which is a moonbase with lower/artificial gravity, and then you'd be able to use the standard carrier tank model without having to make it yourself. You might even make shortcuts leading outside of the space station, harming the player as though they were drowning.

As for gameplay, I think that relatively small spaces would be something to avoid. Snipers should still be effective in this map, so much of the map should consist of open areas with shortcuts, detours and pathways connecting these areas. Visually, new textures would probably be required to give it that 60's space feel. It would need to fit the Team Fortress world in order to work.

I'd learn how and make it myself, but I don't want to mess it up. I'd rather have it made by someone who knows what they're doing. As for rewards, I can't offer much. I just wanted to throw this out there in case anyone likes the idea.

RE: mvm_orbit

Sounds good. I'll try doing a map of this kind since I'm able to model and map ^^

Would be great if there are some sound engineers out there to make some fitting 60's sci-fi sounds^^
