Stone Quarry is a gravelpit style attack and defend map. I've been working on it for a few months now and it's almost ready for playtesting the near finished state. I'm really down to small tweaks and balancing things as well as setting appropriate capture and respawn times and lots of small visually polishing and maybe a few more custom models. So anyways some feedback on the visuals and first impressions would be great and hopefully I'll have it up for some intensive play testing in a few days.

Some areas are a bit dark in these screens, it is better in gameplay and I'm still tweaking the lighting to get just the right atmosphere without annoying blind areas. And these screens were captured on a crt monitor that is a bit darker than most lcd's so I'll have to double check the lighting on another screen when I'm almost done.

It looks very good IMHO. I know you said that there is still some small visually polishing to do, but I'd point out that those rocks really could use some displacements, and overhall I'd add more props and dirt all around, it looks too "clean" for a stonequarry.

But I like it very much, keep the good stuff coming!

Absolutely, all of that will come after some playtesting. I also haven't shown much of the interiors but they all need to be filled with props and detail. I have lots of plans for all the little details, I really have barely started any of that. And definately it needs a good layer of dirt. Thanks for the feedback, I am keeping a close eye on the comments and really do appreciate them.
The rocks in the main quarry are an interesting problem cause stone quarrys that get rock for sculpture, countertops, etc do cut them out in a remarkably square way but I think a crushed rock/more organic look may be better so thanks for the input

I've gotta agree, with more displacements and less angled lines this is going to look nice!

Things still left to do

Point A may still have some small tweaks to make the displacements look better

Both of the spawnrooms need a lot of polish

Point c still has more detail on the way and a few custom props in the works.

the textures for the telescope and the dome still need to be reworked

the doors from the blue base will be changed (cosmetically)

various small lighting tweaks (purely aesthetic)

various optimizations

Well that's whats being planned and hopefully there aren't too many unforeseen surprises.

I like this map, it's very nice. I'd like to see more pickups around the map however, especially ammo to make it a bit easier for engineers to set up.
