TF2 converted game content...can't run Source SDK now?

TF2 just finished completing a game content update "to a more efficient format"...apparently it transferred everything from the Steamapps/<Username>/Team Fortress 2 folder to a one in Steamapps/Common

Anyway, now SDK doesn't recognize that Team Fortress 2 is there and I was right in the middle of working on a map when it decided to do this update...how do I tell SDK where the new Team Fortress 2 content is?

Alright, I figured out how to change the directory, but when I try to run Hammer, I keep getting an error "Failed to load default scheme file. The map views may be missing some visual elements." When I press OK, it will crash right then.

I'm going to guess that this is all due to Valve's update, but for some reason they didn't consider updating the SDK along with it.

We are aware of the Source SDK issues and we are actively working on them. Thanks for being patient while we get everything ironed out.

valve in a nutshell

I suppose i could clean out my dropbox temporarily, and host the gcf's so that you can get them. There is a thread explaining how you can use the gcf's to bandaid the SDK.

except dropbox has a 10gb/month limit on bandwidth, and the gcfs are over 11 gb...

Someone should just put them up on a torrent. Then everyone who made a copy can use theirs to help seed it. (As soon as I figure out how.)

Hold up. You're a Valve person?

Hmm, your asking about overlooked community maps make a lot more sense now.

The way you worded that makes it sound like we're just looking at a minor SteamPipe compatibility update, not the brand-new SDK that we know you've been working on. :(

Simply put, if you're not backed up your GCF files, you'll have to wait until it's fixed. Cayle already said they're hard at work at getting it working again anyway :)

Thanks for the info, I hope it's not oo long, my gcf files are gone after update

come on, don't get your hopes too high. if new tools are being developed they probably will only be compatible with the rumored source 2. at best we will get something akin to the authoring tools from this update.

It appears he/she is, as there are proper "credentials" shown on that post. Either that or someone is trolling here as presenting of being one. Someone check the e-mail to make sure?

Is there a reason you think they are a troll?

edit: to clarify, I mean, there is enough evidence to say otherwise. Seems weird to even bring it up.

Well I was about to post about this issue but saw it here. I hope valve figures it out soon. I was right in the middle of editing. I will just post what happened to me when trying to launch SDK for TF2.

When I try to launch Hammer I get a green box that says.

Warning
Configuration information for the game you're tying to edit is invalid or missing.

If I click Run Anyway I get a windows box that says.

Game infor.txt doesn't exist in subdirectory.
Check game parameter or Vconfig setting.

IDEAS ???
