Not to put too fine a point on it, but if the author no longer wishes to work on/fix this very popular map, perhaps it's time to release the files to someone who would?

It's really a shame to see a map this fun die due to complacency.

he wishes to finish it.

and to the complacency part...
i´m putting hours into this, past my long days at work and in my free time,
whereas i could be bouncing the red ball outside on the street with the other kids.
i´d love to have more time for this.

just start drumrolling slowly...

i resolved the dx8 crash bug,
fixed the crate
& made the area in front of the vault buildable (how did no one notice that? ^^).

hoping for the best. hf

FIXES:
-Fixed DX8 error where map would crash the client due to a false dx8-backup texture
-CP4 crate with ammo can now be entered without crouching
-Area in front of the Vault is now buildable

cashworks final 1 stuff
Wow, I know this is a month late, but I nearly shed a tear upon realizing that Cashworks released its final version. This is one of the very first maps I ever played in the game and quite possibly my favorite community map for Payload, my favorite game mode. There's not many community maps that I sincerely hope get picked up for official inclusion by Valve but this is at the top of the list. Congratulations and thank you for all your hard work over these past few years.

I'm seeing many client crashes on Cashworks again. Is this a known problem?

Tried cashworks with 2 more dudes on a server, had no crashes. But as we were 3 guys only, i don't think we could make it 'crash' or anything.


Great map sir. I like it being HUGE. Because it is still great, wich normally only happens with small maps (All of the rest i guess)

I'm not sure how often eerie checks back on this thread/if he's subscribed to it for email notifications but i'll point him in this direction. If there are crashes it was probably the result of another TF2 update lowering certain Source limitations (again), but i can't say i'm aware of anything like that so it might be server related.

Someone said on valve mailing list that they are seeing client crashes after map changes away from this or was it during this map. I'm not sure. I don't think it's anything eerieone can fix anyway as it's really not his fault.

However, i run this map on 2 of my custom map servers and i haven't seen anything like that. I do get crashes during map load with error "lump 8" but those are not related to this map.

Valve broke something in the game about 1,5 months ago. Could be hurting this map on larger servers.

lump 8 being lightmaps, I'd assume valve messed something up

I will laugh if this turns out to be related to the lightmap blotches error somehow.

I experienced a client crash when changing from cashworks the other day on tf2map's server, and so did half the server's population.

okay so I did some tests and found why the map crashes clients.
The map is affected by this crash that I reported to valve a while ago (didn't get anything back from them) https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5181650/crashreport.pdf
if you are experiencing crashes on cashworks, try using r_renderoverlayfragment 0 before loading the map. this will prevent overlays from rendering, and the map from crashing.

Eerione, this crash only affects mappers who have the custom overlays you're using in their tf folders. it's fairly safe for regular players but you will encounter a lot of crash with mappers. If you want to fix this, the only way I could find is to rename all your custom overlays with unique names that only you will have in your tf folder (only the vmts, vtfs have no effects iirc).

I probably should make a topic about this seeing valve probably won't fix this anytime soon

What fubar said, sounds like a bug in pure and not really the maps fault. Different bug as the lump 8 error crashing.

Odd. So does that mean any map that has custom textures for overlays will crash for people who have those textures downloaded? Because you'd think it'd be more common if that were the case.
