So this is the railbridge I really wanted to make. Name is temporary.


For those a little confused, railbridge was the result of improv mapping, initially made quickly for an assessment to implement something into a game, and present testing data, in a report. That was done in a few weeks. It was entered for Star's Highlander contest purely because it happened to be running at the time, and I thought why not.

Now I'm done with uni, I'm actually able to go back and think through the map a bit better, using a theme that I can take my time on and really make something special.

I heard this for the first time from this set. (Market Acces Pack).
In search of this set, I found a website where not only was this set for download, but also a map with this theme.
This map was originally made ​​for the "Art Pass Contest." Unfortunately, this was never released.

I much prefer this to railbridge but I'll also say you should probably make everything smaller right now while you still can. The whole mid portion just felt too large. Also the lack of any height variation on the ground didn't help

Yeah, noticed it almost immediately on a playtest I did.

I've managed to condense the connectors and such, I've left the actual control point area between the bridges as it is.

I feel a train is a bit out of place for the theme, especial with it on a bridge going through a town. I really love that someone is taking up this theme again, but the train track just doesn't look right the way it is. Could just be me though.

It'd be quite nice to actually get a new model in, however I'm not a 3D artist. I do have a some reference material should somebody be interested/crazy enough to do it.

The two towers at mid aren't going to look like that when I get further down the track, I do have a few ideas for that which will make it look less weird. Just wanted to communicate the theme to players who might not get why everything is suddenly brown. :p
