I talk to myself. A lot. It happens to me with mapping and coding; I talk through it as I do it. I also usually listen to music or have a video going in the background, as well as keeping the TF2maps group chat open.

I talk to myself. A lot.

I tought I was the only one who did that.
It takes away a bit the solitude of coding or mapping.
Damn it, I'm a goddamn incredibly wierd person.

I sketch ideas down, listen to music or commentaries. I hate dead silence so I always need someone talking about something.

I listen to music, but it's mostly instrumental since I find vocals distracting. Animals as Leaders and Jeff Loomis are favorites, as well as jazz and classical sometimes.

I also listen to this song on a loop. During the 72hr I listened almost exclusively to that song.

Yeeeaaah Animals as Leaders. This is also my mapping band.

Or alternatively Phillip Glass.

Talking out complicated entity work helps me a ton too. Solidifies the abstract concepts.

It reminds me a lot of Dan Deacon's newest album.

Philip Glass is good. There's a neat remix album that came out recently for people like me who don't have the patience to sit through 1000 albums. Dan Deacon did a remix on that, actually.

In terms of who/what we listen to, I listen to trip hop.

Yeah the remixes are pretty good. Beck did a good one.

Glassworks is an excellent all around album if you are just looking for something quick to listen to of his. Nothing but good songs.
