This is wierd.

I made several new signs and textures for my map. They all show in the game just fine. I packed them with pakrat and they are now in bsp.

As you know, when you go to play your map on a server, you have to delete your bsp file and download map from server or it will give you erorr that your bsp file is different. No biggie.

So I am in the game and 2 of the 8 signs don't show right. There is a large white square outline where the sign should be. I asked other players and they all saw the sign how it should be.

Why would this happen? Why wouldn't have all the signs did this for me and not just 2? Again, all the files were in bsp just fine because the other players all saw them correctly. The textures showed up just fine also.

I'm at a loss on this one.

this would be a biggi. this means the server does not have the version of the map you want them to have.
upload it again

Why do you say that? When I upload it, the admin just opens it and puts it on server. He doesn't do anything to it. Why does it say my version is different?

At any rate, what's with the white square outlines?

Try re-dl the map? There is a possibility it corrupted but there may be another reason for this. Do you have these custom materials in your materials folder?

Sometimes issues inexplicitly happen when swapping around files with all sorts of games and programs. Valve isn't going to be any different :/

I found the problem, there was a duplicate file name in a subfolder of materials. I deleted it and it fixed the problem.
