True, but Credit cards are even worse imo, I'd have to pay the yearly fee for only using once because I activated it.

You can only pay via PayPal, so you kinda do need an account.

Normally you could pay by debit like most people do with online transactions, but TF2maps isn't some kinda retail service so we don't have that capacity. You have to pay via paypal because DrP (site owner) Doesn't want his personal bank details just floating about the web, which i think is fair enough.

You don't lose out on anything by using paypal or having a paypal account, in fact many circumstances will require you to use one sooner or later if you buy over the web a lot (eBay), although it is a bit annoying they fee you (all be it a small amount (5%?)) for each transaction.
