Hi !

The alpha 1 is uggly, i would like to playtest my main design before going deeper in the development. There are any light because i'll use a night environment, so it request me some works i don't want to delete (erase?) because of re-designing the map.
What is the most important for me is to have a funny map to play.
I have already test it with bot, but i need a few more playtest. At the very worst, I'll test it with other students of my school when i'll come back to it.

I am thinking about mix soho props ans mining props to get a poor district of city. Maybe i am wrong.

(sorry if I do some English mistake, I am French. Don't hesitate to notice it :) )

People around here won't bother looking at your map without lighting in it. Fullbright is ugly and hard to play in, especially when all your textures are grey.

Download the environment library:

http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=4872

And copy+paste one of the night themes into your map. It should save you from having to put up too many temporary lamps and will make the map actually playable.. at least the outdoor areas.

With no lighting it's difficult to know how far different parts of the map are. From a distance most walls blend to each other and doorways go unnoticed. It's also hard to notice important parts and players don't know where to watch or go.

Add environment light as xzzy said and see the magic happen. Suddenly your map has personality.

Also remember that your alpha doesn't have to have the same lighting settings as what you want your finished product to have.

Play CTF Doublecross. It too is a night time map, but the play areas are very, very well lit, as TF2 maps should be.
