My last map didn't go down too well (understandably) so I decided to scrap it and make a new map. I can already see problems with it looking at the pictures now :\
First of all, I'm still fixing the lighting. Having so many buildings probably wasn't such a good idea. Also I've not put additional lights yet which I am going to put in later.

Secondly, this map is quite small and simple. I do aim to change this but I'm not too sure how yet and would like some imput on the map layout.

Last, the reason I've textured some of the map and added some props was because I wanted to see if the theme worked well first- the theme being that of an old English town sort of thing. (And I wanted to test some of my custom textures, some feedback on those would be nice (although I'm aware they aren't especially "TF2-ey" and some need to be resized).
I just wanted to put this here to see what you guys think of it so far.

There's a pretty well known and established map called clocktower already. You'll want to change the name asap.

But beyond that, the map looks very small and cramped, very flat, and very dark. You also appear to be using very odd textures for the roof shingles. Put "tf" in the keyword section of the texture browser to be sure you just use TF2 textures.

There's a pretty well known and established map called clocktower already. You'll want to change the name asap.

But beyond that, the map looks very small and cramped, very flat, and very dark. You also appear to be using very odd textures for the roof shingles. Put "tf" in the keyword section of the texture browser to be sure you just use TF2 textures.

Changed the name of the map, didn't realise there was one called "clocktower" already.
Also, I'm sorry if this comes off as rude, but did you read the description?

It looks a lot like you haven't configured the light_env's pitch properly, as the light comes from a completely horizontal direction.

Ahhhh, I didn't know you could change the angle. Thanks! I'll be sure to fix the lighting properly for when I upload the next version of the map.

I see that you're aware of the issues, so my next question to you is why didn't you change it before release after seeing that it doesn't work? Seek to eliminate all issues before presenting the map to eliminate this kind of crap from people.

I see that you're aware of the issues, so my next question to you is why didn't you change it before release after seeing that it doesn't work? Seek to eliminate all issues before presenting the map to eliminate this kind of crap from people.

I just wanted to see if I was moving in the right direction...

We have an unofficial way of doing so.

In this thread, we post screenshots and get early feedback on stuff, that we don't think we are ready to release.
It's not written anywhere that this is what we do, so don't feel bad about it :p

Oh, I guess I'll just post screenshots there then. Like you probably guessed, I didn't know about this so thanks :)
