I've tried making a custom soundscape for my map using the GUI Soundscape Editor, naming it to my map name and placing it into my scripts folder, yet my game won't play/load the soundscape into my map, even when it says it's active:

I should be hearing sound coming from the waterfall, but it's just silent. I've also tried packing the file into my map using Pakrat but that doesn't work either.

Any idea how I can get it working?

1st - If the sound file a .wav? If not, make it so Mr. Crusher
2. Why is the Sound in your scripts folder? It's really odd place to put it - should be in the sounds folder.

In your sounds folder - make folder (your map name) - in this folder put yoursoundfile.wav

Go get it in hammer - compile and test it.

Hope that works for you.

Scripts is the correct folder. It's where my soundscapes go and they work fine.

Make sure the name matches the map exactly, and make sure the soundscapes in the map match the names in the soundscript. I'm dyslexic, so these are the first things I always check. Heh. Otherwise I dunno, I don't use the GUI editor, I just write the soundscape in a text editor. Fr0Z3n linked to a really good tutorial.

I think the time I tried to use the GUI Soundscape Editor I couldn't get it to work, assumed I was stupid, and gave up. I haven't tried Rav's guide. I wonder if the GUI one is just broken.

1. The sounds are all in-game sounds from the TF2 GCF, so it should have no problem using them.
2. The soundscape_mapname.txt file is in the scripts folder, that's what I meant.

I used Ravidges Tutorials on Soundscapes (and this) to do the custom 'scapes for backlot. Worked fine for me.

Yeah I took a look at them, and I'm using the proxies as he showed. The text file is identical to the one he makes aside from a few line breaks which the program made itself and names for my own soundscape.

I double checked that the soundscapes matched the names in the text file and I can see no fault there. I guess maybe it'll be better if I made the soundscape from scratch in Notepad. Might just be that the program is broken.

Thanks guys.

EDIT:
Haha! Nevermind guys, I fixed it by actually fixing my .txt filename from soundscape to soundscapes, how silly of me!
