So my map I was working on had a Invalid solids error and deleted everything. Well luckily I have a exact copy of that map with everything still in it, only problem is: When I open it I get the prompt to remove solids. I know what the solid is: Some block that has no properties(aside from being visible) thats Where I never placed a block.

Now I wanted to know if there is a way to access auto-saves so I can just go to the last autosaved file and try to work from there. I really dont want to have to re-insert the props, (they took me like an hour to place). I read somewhere on the forums that this has happened to other people and one way to work around it is to find an autosave in Hammer Editor and work around it.

I would really appreciate some help on this subject. Also sorry if this is not the forum where this goes. Didn't see a "Help Desk" so I thought this would be the best place to post this.

EDIT: Also on a side note I dont know why this is happening but water is invisible on the surface in my maps, I made the water correctly, (Using nodraw on all sides but the surface) and I have a water lod control and a cubemap nearby in a building, my map also has no leaks. Its just a small puddle but I would still like to see my water. Any way to fix this?

Gosh I hate that error. I've gotten it twice. It's a pain in the ass.

Your autosaves are located in C:/HammerAutosave. Make sure you set the file type to the .vmf autosaves.

Wow....even my Autosaves(well the ones that are close to what I had have that error...I decompiled the bsp that I have saved as a downloaded map and the same thing. God I hate this error. So any reason why this happened? Especially since I havent done anything that should of given me this error.

Im using the normal 2fort texture, not the expensive or cheap water. This happens with all water textures I use for TF2. I could use some of the HL2 water textures provided but they don't really match the theme of TF2.

That's the only water in my map, and for what it was I guess it was expensive. I don't use cheap water because my computer can run most games on max settings, I have yet to play a game where it cannot but I'm sure there's one out there...

Basically the water is inside a small displacement ditch and I believe it's about 32 or so hammer units, so it's fairly shallow, about boot cuff height on the pyro. But this water even on other maps doesn't render right. I will provide screenshots of my problems later, including that phantom block.

/obligatory try vmx response:
Rename your .vmx to .vmf and open that, see if that helps.
