Hi guys, I'm bad at introductions so I'll try to be blunt, and clear as best I can.
I've currently got an unpaid team whom is beginning to look for a specific level designer.
The team consists of me, the lead 3d modeling artist.
A highly competent texture artist, an animator, and a skilled weapon concept artist. I've been gathering people to join up for awhile and it's excruciatingly difficult to find these people. Each of us have portfolios that depict what we specialize in.
As a group, we've been modeling weapons for Team Fortress 2; however, only recently did I find the texture artist whom is very interested in painting our weapons.

The TL;DR of this thread is that we're looking to expand into level design by making custom environmental art, and custom TF2 styled textures for the maps as well.
This is our projected timeline for the near future.

We work together with our collaboration through a Facebook group.

For the map we're wanting to work alongside a level designer with, we're hoping to work with the new Doomsday gametype, and incorporate a sort of "Spytech" feel to it. Here is a door I modeled, unwrapped and is almost completely textured by the texture artist.

We're aiming to attempt and sell this map, or in the least get acknowledged by Valve.

I'm going to attempt making a full tc map on the 72h contest. I don't intend to finish the map because of the workload it represents but if an art team wants to get behind it... that would work for me. of course the map doesn't exist as of right now so it remains to be seen. but there's that map I'm never going to finish on my own.

no doomsday tho, I think doomsday is a cheap mode. other than the hype there's not much to it imo. (unless you have a crazy finale in mind)

fubarFX, we're looking for someone who has at least completed one map, or got to the finishing stages of completing a map.

By saying all that, you're setting yourself up for fail if you're interested in joining a team. Always present optimism and show your best effort in my opinion. We as a team don't want to just make random models for a map that won't go anywhere.

Is anyone interested our offer in making this map together?

oh it will be an awesome map but I'll never see the end of it. it will be up for the taking once I'm done with it.

I think he meant that he doesn't intend to finish it DURING the 72hr contest. This is absolutely understandable, since making a TC map is a huge, huge motherlode of work, that could not be done properly on 72 hours even if you worked on it CONSTANTLY without a SINGLE BREAK for that period.

even after the 72h period, I have many other projects atm and I can't quite commit to a tc map.

So anyone interested?
Unless I'm reading the forums incorrectly, your post is only 6.5 hours old. You really need to slow down and allow more time for possible responses, given most people have jobs and lives, etc.

And they can't really hire you to do modeling for their KOTH contest map, unless you're willing to also post all the models in our downloads section.

Yeah, I've spent over a year on Hella. And I've done some other things in that time, but not many and they haven't gotten far.

Not only do I keep up a social life, but I work full time and do stuff for work off the clock sometimes. But that's fine, because I work in the alcohol industry, so any free stuff is good in my book.

Oh, I don't expect to finish a map within a period of two months either.
There is absolutely no way that I could model all the assets for an entire map in two months either.

Nevertheless, I'm still searching for a competent knowledgeable level designer who'd like to work with us.
We're interested in doing helping with making a Doomsday map. If one of you are also interested, then defiantly write back. You can come up with all the story, level design, etc. We'll just model and texture for you. Possibly animate too.
