Clipping a set of stairs

To ensure that the player does not fall through a set of stairs in a map I'm currently creating, I use the Player Clipping material and use the Vertex tool to match the stairs.

One issue that I have to ask.

I want it to match the dimension of the stairs, and I have no clue how to do it. Is there a way to reduce the box's size so I can get a more precise measurement? I'm trying to clip a prop_dynamic with the model stairs_bb01 in props/barnblitz.

Is this possible?

Do you mean the grid size is too big? You can scale the grid up and down with the [ ] keys. There are buttons for that on the top toolbar as well.

Thanks.

Yikes! default grid on start up is something like 64 units. I'f you haven't changed till now you may want to look at the scale of your map.

This. You'll want to get in the habit of adaptively changing the grid size. For extremely rough work I go with 32/64, for walls and other large scale stuff generally 16, for detailing down to 8 or 4. For stairs, I usually work at 8 or 4 to get the slopes right.
