Housematch

Current version: 0.1a

I've started to work with this map quite long ago, and originally I made this for myself and perhaps for fun purposes. But now since the map became quite large and complex I feel like it's the right time to release it.

It has a lot of movable doors/gates which can be activated by using the buttons (via shoting at them)
This map originally designed as a sniper map so keep this in mind while playing on this ;)
As you see in my screenshots dynamic platforms can be found which is quite fun if you ask me, it works with a control panel that can also be used by shoting at the buttons.

Note: All of my custom sound scripts and textures are packed with the BSP file.

Bad, very bad.

Buttons that you need to shoot on gameplay area and map being sniper friendly are two things you don't want to have on tf2 map.

EDIT:

There is also too much water at the mid/yard area, pyros will be useless.
There is also dispenser prop in the building with cp, don't have props like that on your map, they distract players.

Well, I found it quite fun and this map originally made for fun purposes.
I think it's still playable because you're not forced to use those moving platforms.

As I mentioned earlier this is originally a sniper map, so yes pyros will be useless.

Well, let's see what the others say, and I'll take further actions.
That dispenser at the center supposed to heal the actual team of the cap point owner.

Okay, I can totally understand everything that article mentions, but I still think I can break those "rules" in order to create a creative but less efficient map I admit that.

My map in it's current state isn't capable to statiate most of the "real" player's need, but I think it's quite good to hang around and have some fun with it.
Plus I also found this quite good for duel sniper matches.

For the last thinkings, I don't want to offend you or anything that has been mentioned in that article you gave me, since it's completly true, if you're planning to make a decent "all-class-playable" map.
Im sure this map will find it's "audience".

As the pyros might not be played much in this map I'd like to see some places where I can ignite my arrows. I haven't played duel sniper games but I would think they need some cover on the ground too. Not all the players want to sit behind windows, some of us love to sneak behind enemy sniper as a sniper and some cover would help this. Also the cover could make it harder to know where the enemy is, is he advancing towards me or is he behind those windows?

About those buttons: Maybe make them trigger automaticly after certain time, would make them more easier to use.

The maps looks visually good and everything seems to be where they should be.

ALOT of "I's" around here. very bad. This works in any type of work that requires you to give something to other people and label it as a product of your creation. What YOU want isn't what other people want. If the majority group says "Yeah, this platform doesn't work with this sightline or this forward spawn" and you disagree and don't change it, you'll have some serious issues getting along with the people that support the map and provide some critisim.

Here's a tip. Go to a balloon racing map and play as a sniper. After playing rounds of it, think about your map. Now you will know your problem with a sniper-only map.
