Hey all

Here's the scenerio..

Open tank on the ground of my map.. filled with water..

entrance to a pipe at the bottom that travels a ways under the map.. it too is filled with water, till it pops up at another location into another tank full of water..

I've tried a couple things, here is waht I've tried..

1 brush in the tank on the ground... Top face is water texture, all other sides of brush are Nodraw texture..

This make it work like water, i can swim around the tank..

I place a 2nd brush under the 1st water brush.. so the pipe becomes incased in it.. I texture its top face with same water texture..

it too becomes water.. but when tested.. I cannot swim past water brush 1 in the tank.. into water brush 2 in the pipe.. its an invisible stoppage..

Other thing I tried, was making the 2nd water brush, All sides No-Draw texture but turning it into a Func_water_analog entity...

This too does not allow me to pass from water brush 1 into water brush 2... If I cheat and Noclip into the 2nd brush.. it is water and i can swim in the pipe in the water but I cannot swim in between the two water brushes in normal play..

What can be done?

tried using Trigger texture , and various other player-passable textures yet there still seems to be an invisible blockage between the 2 water brushes..

Make sure your water brushes are not clipped or vertex manipulated. It's ok if the water brush edges go out of the map, as long as the center is in the world. Only use Nodraw, and apply the water texture to the top side of each brush. Don't tie it to any entities.

Also, you need the water levels to be the same height for the exit and entrance for it to look normal.

Hope that helps. gl

that sounds about right..

do the brushes have to match up ?. seam to seam?,... I have a hexagonal water brush in the tank, but a square brush for the pipe...

is this a problem?
