Odd why Vile would say no. We'll to shoot out some people and all followed by an "IMO"

Youme
- Knows a fair bit about mapping and gameplay.
Redrum - Is oftentimes brash HOWEVER that is easily enough changed just by asking. He is good with mapping techniques, rights, wrongs, whats proper and what isn't.
Pseudo - All the maps i've played with him he always has useful input and idea's centered around what can help the map
MangyCarface - Same as Pseudo. Takes a lot of time to learn and give useful practical advice and idea's that will fit your map.

I'll second the suggestion to ask Youme to join as a reviewer. He's very good about giving feedback (even when others seem uninterested in the project.) He's got a very good general knowledge about mapping and gameplay, and can usually point out the flaws as well as the promising aspects of a project.

debating for ease factor..

creating a download catagory for "Official TF2Maps.net Reviewed Maps"

This catagory will only be viewable/downloadable by members.

Only Review Staff/Mod/Admins will be able to upload/rate/change files.

That'd be useful, as I want any review to have a link to be able to download the file anyway.

On a related note, I have a friend who is working on the problem of a server-finding service for maps. He says it's definitely possible, but his ISP was out all except one day last week so he wasn't able to get anything done with steam. I need to pester him more about registering here so that he can bug you (DJive) about what we're capable of server-side. He goes by "Reddog" online, so his forum name will likely be something along those lines. I'll try to get him to contact you tomorrow.

Testing what these look like on the forum:

They don't look half bad.

Big question though is where they'll go. The section header images can easily be hosted on tf2maps.net somewhere and be reused in each review, but the score image will be a new file for each review. How will that get uploaded somewhere that it can be used in a review post?

Wow awesome effort, all fit TF2 very nicely.

Its easy enough to setup a FTP access to a folder to host those server side.

Only thing i would add would be "TF2Maps.net" on the overall score maybe?

Need a little more playtime on it, I really don't play tf2 that much anymore so getting in my alloted time on each map is hard work.

We need a list of maps so I can find out which other ones have final versions, I don't know all that many

The biggest problem with reviewing maps is barely any servers run good custom maps, theres more servers running orange_x variations than there is running tc_hydro... more running cp_lazytown than running cp_steel.... more running ctf_turbine than any other four or five custom maps put together......

we desperately need valve to put some more decent maps in their updates (and I think I heard that they will be adding a custom map or two with every class update from now on!)

I think nobody plays quarry because it quickly degrades into a turtle-fest, even worse than 2fort. It'd still be a good map to review though.

The broma review will be coming eventually. I've been working on the first detailing pass for meridian, and with Buddikaman AWOL, I've been having to do all the modeling work as well as the mapping. So I've been doing this 8-9 hours a day for the last two weeks. =\

To make reviewing maps easier, what about having a "review" focused gameday, where we play finished maps, rather than WIPs? I think this is something Corion suggested.
