Looking for EU gameday Hosts!

Since I'm currently unavaliable to run an EU gameday on Thursday, I thought I would toss out a thread asking if anyone else would be interested in doing such a thing?

You don't need to run the gameday weekly, but if enough people can do it, you can all do different weeks whenever. Having an EU timezone gameday is great not only for the EU people, but for US people, because you can post a map in the morning, or the night before and have a good chunk of feedback by the end of school.

If you are interested in doing an EU gameday (During a good EU time, between 6-8 start time EU I guess is best) ... You can just PM me on the forums, or post here and I'll give you the template I used on the last gameday (with the fancy banner and all!) ... if you don't like the banner, you can remove it.

What you'll need to do as host:
Being a gameday host is easy. Just compile the maps together, double check to make sure that they following naming standards (versioned, not capitalized file names) and that they don't have game-breaking bugs. You will need to have a staff member to upload the maps for you, or get permission from them to do so if you are a donator. You will need to ask for an annoucement, but these can be done days in advance. You will also need to stay for just about all of the test, if there are maps to play for a post-gameday impromptu, and you can't host/don't feel like it. Ask if another VIP wants to host.

Again, if interested, or have questions, post here, or PM me.

(As a note, this doesn't mean I'm not doing any events.... I have a couple of idea's for "fun" events coming up... as soon as my internet starts letting me play tf2)

I can run one this week. Can we use that as a tester, and see how it goes for running them in the future? Wednesday would be easier for me. I'm gonna have a lot of work soon, so i'ts debatable how well i can do. At some point in the future- may-ish- i become completely free and can do gamedays whenever, but for the next few months... we'll see how it goes

wat

a gameday host with upload powers will still have to beg permissions?

lmao

Semantics. (usually, the way it works is that we just technically need you to ask, and we just say yea sure do whatever you need whenever) ... one one begging needed per person.

Leswordfish and Howling Techie both have offered to do a few gamedays. Thanks guys!

To explain it a little better, the rules are that if it's not your map you need to ask permission to load it onto the server, so naturally if you're running a gameday you'll be loading a bunch of maps you didn't author to our servers. This was a result of the fact people were uploading all sorts of random shit to our server that eventually got us in trouble with our server host, so we had to restrict how much access our members had to the server so DrP doesn't get in trouble. We gave VIP back upload capabilities so that things could run more smoothly but we asked VIP's to be vigilante in what they uploaded for the sake of the well being of our community.

Because there's a certain level of trust involved with older VIP's, it's just as Frozen said, it's more of a formality/technicality, we'll probably say yes, especially if there's an event involved.

I've been considering bringing EU gamedays back after i ran them for 4-5 months last year but with my job situation being unpredictable i didn't want to excite people with starting them only to have to stop them 2 weeks later because i got an evening job. But i'll be glad to host a couple here and there.
