New Map Exhibition Match 1-28-12 9pm est

Hey, I started working for eXtv awhile ago and I've been organizing an event for them with my New Map Weekend PUG group to showcase two new maps: cp_croissant_b10, and cp_standin_b9. Two ESEA IM teams are going to play each map, first to 5 or 30 minutes; the teams are Mayhem and Bey Bladers. Both Arnold and Scorpio will be casting the match with Greaver of eXtv; the mappers will be on hand to give insight on the map, what changes they've made to the map, what they think of the match, etc.

I'm hoping to continue this event in the future, both for comp maps and public maps. I think this event type will mainly be for new maps that are in at least beta. For the public maps, eXtine mentioned that he'd put the map on the three eXtv servers for the cast.

Right now, for the comp end, I'm trying to focus on maps that will likely be in the running to be included in the upcoming seasons; atm, there aren't really any comp ctf maps like that except if you consider pro_turbine, so, for a little bit, it'll mostly be push and maybe koth maps. Most people don't play comp arena, so I doubt we'd try to play one for this event series.

The pub side of things will honestly probably be any map that looks fun to the eXtv staff. I know duder really likes Zinkenite and when I first mentioned this project I remember him saying he wanted to promote it because he liked it so much. I honestly haven't been following that many maps designed for pubs closely, though, so I don't really have that many in mind personally for this. Honestly, as long as we can run it on the pub servers, I think any map that looks promising and that's in beta could be shown off in one of these events. Focusing on maps that are at least beta atm because things can change a lot during alpha and I'd rather this be a map showcase than a map testing ground.

I'll probably be trying to figure out how to do a pub event in the next couple weeks and that will be the next event and then maybe in like a month or something we'll see about doing another comp one. Not really sure atm, though.
