Great! I assure you I do this for the sake of map awareness. I host a server but my player base is small and comes and goes. Its just more there for friends and custom maps. I'm not trying to build up a clan or anything. You all should know I've been around the block quite a bit trying to get all of your spectacular maps known =)

Yup, totally understood. Our server right is now will be populated for a while since we got the NotLU group to annouce the maps. Just shoot me the IP whenever you're ready and I'll post it here. It'll at least be a little bit of people to join.

they featured the Night of the Living Update already on the blog, but I meant a more specific mention of the 10 maps and the 3 (now) servers running them. maybe they'd make them all official (I wish)

They won't all go official. Valve doesn't want to officialise arena maps anymore.


And in that case, yea, they did do a thing for NotLU already, but doesn't hurt to be shamelessly plugging the maps.

I find arena very fun, although, it's pretty unbalanced. what would be fun is if there was a koth variation where you had a kill-counter/clock so every kill takes a tick off the counter, along with being able to cap the point to decrease the counter.

Since the server is somewhat linked to the whole living update. I've switched to sv_pure 0 so that people who enjoyed the model content from the community update can use them on our server.

At least during Halloween.

Yea, that is what I was thinking, I don't want it to be sv_pure 0 for long. I'll make sure to tell Mnemo that when I get back onto steam, so he can possibly reannouce the server being up.

When did they say they weren't gonna officialise any more arena maps? I can kinda understand why, since nobody really plays them. But i hadn't heard of that actually being stated by Valve...

From what I know, they haven't said they wouldn't officialize another arena map, but I think its implied, since the following for arena maps is basically very small now ... and mainly consisted of CS players...


Also, look at the quality of the arena maps that are out there now...

There's Draft (Or whatever Nerdboys/LordNeds map was) , Arakawa and backlot.

Will need to get in-game again and get a picture of the spot, but had the HHH get stuck on the stairs on Vanguard once.

Other than that, I *really* like that map. Could easily replace event harvest in the rotation.

Great job guys! Unfortunately too few servers benefit. I spoke of it on french servers to integrate them, and the CTF server has already put in the mapcycle (thank you Thorgal !). Everything works fine. The maps are good (I like Vanguard), but unfortunately not been able to play all for the moment (strongly the weekend). Great surprise, you are awesome ! Keep it up !
