What do we offer?

We offer a full check of your map, documenting every small (or big) bug or exploit.

Why we do this?

We noticed that many TF2 Maps (Community and Valve Maps) have a big amount of usable bugs and exploits.
Those are disturbing the game play and give players, who know them, an advantage.
Mappers should not waste their time finding every small bug,
they should instead spend their time on improving the map. That's where we come in.

Who are you?

TF2Xploits, we are just two people, Xeramon and me.
In the past we've had some fun exploiting and griefing several maps like Frontier, Nightfall, Gullywash, Upward, etc, but now we want to help upcoming maps.
We've got a lot of past experience in finding and then using various bugs and exploits.
Here, check for yourself: our YouTube channel.

What are the conditions?

If you want your map to be tested by us, just send me a PM or write a post in this thread.
The map must be late beta or later, because we don´t want to document every small bug appearing in early stage of map design.

Thats all (for now), so just give us the pleasure.

Map we already checked:
  • pl_boundary
  • cp_axle
  • cp_upland
  • pl_borax
  • pl_cashworks
  • pl_swiftwater (~5 versions)
  • pl_escarpment
  • cp_stoneyridge

If you find a misspelling, tell me please. Thanks.

What's the point of bugchecking a _final map? It's completed, and as thus exploit feedback on it is useless

If you find a misspelling, tell me pls. Thx.

Also the irony of this statement is delicious

final =/= final, if you have a final map with great exploit,
like frontier for example, then you have to fix this :S (if the exploit is public)
The only thing i wan´t to say is that we couldn´t test _b1 maps, because nothing is like it will be later, and the clips will be reworked anyway.

I´m done with pl_boundary (1h of testing and writing).
Did it alone, cause Xeramon wasn´t there, but you are a really skilled cliper (or whatever you wan´t to call it).
I´ll give you the url per PM.

This sounds like a good opportunity for us mappers but you should focus your efforts on late beta maps. RC and final maps have been tested to hell and it'll only be pure infintesimal chance that you find a bug like launching yourself out a map using stacked rocket knock back. Plus the chances of even pulling something like that off ingame are even lower than the fact that the bug exists.

Understandably you can't bug check every early beta map which will be full of bugs people find all the time, but limiting yourself to RC doesn't make your service very useful.

Thanks grazr, in one way you are right,
but you know some people call their maps "beta" in a very early stage of development.
And it´s not rarely that you find something like what you described.

Also if RC´s and finals got tested to hell, there a still some bugs. (see my above list: Nightfall, Frontier, Upward, Gullywash)

We don´t check basic bugs, we check the big ones. :)

EDIT:
Maybe we shouldn´t make it depending on the suffix, just decide after we saw the screenshot.
How about that compromise?

yeah most people want to correct these bugs before rc. including "late beta" in your service might be more appealing and be of a greater use.
you see I have a map in late beta map. I'd make a new rc version out of it but I don't really have stuff I want to fix in it so I don't see the use of making a new version just to call it rc.
that's one case where you could be a great help to beta maps (polishing before rc). but hey it's none of my busyness. I just think you're limiting yourself that way (not necessarily a bad thing tho).

anyways thanks for offering your help, always appreciated.

Yea, you're probably better off doing it case by case. I mean, hell, i've seen maps go final when they still look like an initial beta.

On another note, feel free to go through cp_axle_b7 http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=8227

It's the last beta i intend to do before going RC and has been tested ~1,000 times through alpha and beta.

Hey grazr,

We are done with testing your map. It was just a quick test (~60mins) but we found some exploits, bugs and glitches and one "Yay I can leave the map"-Exploit.

I will send you a PM ;)

BIG FAT BUMP from my side for finding numerous (i won´t tell how many) errors in my prefinal cashworks compile.

ok, i will, 105 neat screenshots illustrating my failure. :)

big of what was nasty clipping and well exploitable if it weren´t for these fellas with the talent to find your most hidden secrets, your map´s ugly side, the brown spots on the banana.

So, go ahead, contact these ol´ chaps and let them run around on your playground just to get photos of where they bumped their silly heads!

signed,
a happy customer

I should probably hire you guys for Escarpment. I mean, you've already done lots on it, but a final final one before the contest.
