Has anyone else noticed a weird vertigo effect when you reach cliff edges. Everytime i climb to the top of a hill and reach a sharp cliff face on the opposite side or even not necasserily sharp, the FOV does this weird sudden zoom thing.

It's kinda cool but i'm also wondering if it's just me seeing things as it's so sudden and almost impossible to forcibly replicate.

EDIT: On second thoughts, maybe it's memory leaks jumping me forwards at large terrain rendering points. Still, anyone noticed anything of the sorts?

Damn people ignoring EU dudes >:| someone PM me the IP plz, hopefully i havn't missed anything yet and can still get involved in the starting party.
Wasn't much to miss. Everyone ran off to their own things after about 5 minutes, a few staying in small groups. Half hour in or so and it was basically singleplayer. Not really any major community action going on.

Boojum and I made a quaint little community hut, but beyond that everyone was doing their own thing. I can imagine everyone isn't going to try anything too extreme because of the impending update which may require a new world.

Not to mention all the cool scenery is a while from spawn.

Dibs on the rockpool past the hill with the giant mushrooms.

That's my house, genius. I grew em. You're welcome to come live near me though.

Also it sucks to go get wood.

For those unaware:
I only put the server up in 1.8 because everyone in chat harassed me to. I gave every reason not to, and there were those who insisted I put it up.

So I put it up with no whitelist, no plugins, and no rules.

I wanted to wait until 1.9 for a proper start because Notch is an asshole who can't keep his word and removed things like SNOW BIOMES from the world generator. I wanted to wait until 1.9 so that we could get a limiting plugin and live in a 1,000 radius sphere. I wanted to wait and make a proper not half-assed start but everyone has to have the latest and greatest and be updated yesterday, so I gave in.

Blame your peers, not me.

What does not permanent mean? It will be wiped for 1.9, or it will be wiped next week?

Me and others are spending quite a lot of time on our projects and I don't want it to be wiped for some random reason.

That's not what I meant by random. 1.9 isn't random. Wiping next week for some other reason would be random.

Yeah, I have no problem wiping for updates that include major worldgen changes, that is to be expected. All my construction I did knowing it wouldn't last, and honestly half the fun of minecraft is the building part. Much like LEGO, once you have something finished there isn't as much to do.
