Water splash not working?

Dear TF2mappers,

I've got a problem with one of my maps. The water in there doesn't work the proper way. I've fixed all the leaks (12... D: ), made the cubemaps, but it still doesn't work well. My problem is that the water doesn't splash when you shoot at it. The bullets go straight through but nothing happens!

Anyone got an idea what the problem could be?

Did you tie it to a func_water and make sure it was one of the mainly used water textures, which correct me if im wrong, are the non-silvery ones.

func_water doesn't exist. There is a func_water_analog, but that's used for things like angled water and does not always behave properly (this is where Snark corrects me).

Make sure you're using the water_whatever material, not water_whatever_dx80 or any of the other ones.

Thank you very much for your suggestions! I use (at the moment) dev/dev_water2, but I've tried several other ones already, and the same problem occurs. But about "tieing it to func_water", is that the right thing to do? Never done that?

The proper way to build water is to make a brush w/ the nodraw texture. and select only the face that you want the water to show up on. Apply the water texture to that face.

You will also at some point need to add an env_cubemap to the water (also, select "brush faces" then [picj] and select the face of the water ... this is for the best looking water).

And also you need a water_lod_control. You only need 1 for the whole map (if there is water)

Check, check, check, done everything. I've made a quick video to show you guys my problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdT0OGzw8dM
It's a little dark (fraps...) but I think you can see what I mean.

Are you sure that's a TF2 texture?

I´m not sure the current one is a TF2 texture, but I have tried another one that works well in one of my other maps.
