Multistage control point with a mix of desert, underground base, and spytech themes. Also, an Akira-style lift.

A1 ready for initial testing. Currently orphaned stage one.

I'll be using the following naming conventions for versions:
  • cp_atomicsands_<version> -- stage one
  • cp_atomicsands_<version>_s2 -- stage two
  • cp_atomicsands_<version>_s3 -- stage three

Updated with some early images of BLU spawn. Very WIP obviously, but at least they're better than a Hammer screenshot.

Yeeeeah, there may be a leeetle Fallout: New Vegas influence here. ;)

Also, the gas station at the end of Planet 51 is a big inspiration.

A month later and I've had a whopping 15 minutes worth of test time. :(

Anyway, seen one feedback comment that the map is crashing people randomly. I need a mdmp from someone who thinks the map crashed them so I can find out what it is.

i crashed twice when trying to join your map. when i loaded it up on listenserver it was fine tho

Got a mdmp or dev console error? I want to be sure to fix the problem rather than guessing and never really knowing if it's fixed.

Maybe an admin can help with an error log from the server?

if only i had an idea what a mdmp is and how to get the correct one if i have crashed a few times afterwards

It's just a data dump. A log file, basically, helps narrow down when and where the crash happened. Correct date if you were in the playtest on Saturday would be dated 09-17-2011. Unless you crashed constantly all day there should be only those.

I thought they were stored in steamapps\<username>\team fortress 2, but my most recent mdmp is from 2010 and I'm certain I crashed more recently than that. So now I'm not sure where they are... or if map errors will even log to a user's files at all.

I'm gonna light up the Boojam Snark Signal on top of Gotham's tallest building and see if he knows.

Updated to A2.

No significant changes, aside from trying to address the crashing issue (removed some questionable displacements, removed a decompile structure). Added the sign prop. Removed a couple of the trucks, too.

Download in OP, will upload and try to get in an impromptu this weekend sometime.

Alright, after the test today, there were only 3 people left, and I crashed when trying to choose a class. So two questions:

1) When other people crashed on this map, was it when the map loaded or on class select?

2) And wtf could it be in the map that would make it crash on class select? :\

I'm not doing anything fancy with this map... it's just standard brushwork and copypasta of the multistage map controls from ABJ's resource pak.

[Edit] I'm probably going to have to rebuild it from scratch. Wasted way too much time trying to figure out what's doing it; I would have been to B1 by now.
