In my current map I'm attempting to modify the Headless Horsemanne into a new monster, I should have no problem editing the model and sounds but I've run into problems when it comes to editing the various text strings that appear such as 'YOU ARE IT' etc.
Editing tf_english.txt does work, but if I pack this into the map it'll override any updated file that will come in future updates so things such as new weapons would have broken names.
I've searched around and haven't been able to find anything like the methods used to write custom mission briefings (mapname_english.txt), so besides hunting for console commands that let me edit strings on mapload or simply living with it I'm out of ideas.
If anyone has any ideas of how I could do this I'd be happy but if there's no way to do so I guess I'll just have to get used to the annoying pop up text, thanks in advance.
