ive been using the steam screenshots (hurr steamshots) for my map pics. upload them online using the thingy, get a direct link to them real fast
that looks much better as a final point SirRaffi, but of course itll be easier to say for sure in an actual game. might make it too easy for the defenders to rain fire down on the point, but hey, final points shouldnt be easy

Upload it to some image service. Dropbox is used a lot around here. Min.us is a TF2Maps sponsor, so it's cool to use them too. Photobucket and Imageshack are taboo. Babies eat kittens each time you use them.

Covered in ads, compresses your images, can be difficult to get a link directly to the image, images degrade in quality over time, they might delete your images randomly or kill your account for an infraction of their labyrinthine TOS
Just use Imgur, and if you want a history, make an account. Or Dropbox. Or pay for hosting.

I completely disagree (except for the bit about the ads).
I've never had images compressed, and I've never had problems getting a direct link to the image. And the old images I posted are still at the same quality as they were when I first uploaded them, and have not been deleted. I've never even read the ToS and I still have an account to this day.
Still, each to their own, I suppose.

thanks for the help with the screen shots, but now my map is now up, it is called cp_deathtower.
You submit them to valve, and they look at it. If they like it, they might put it into the game.
