Or how about, Friday - Sunday to work on a map, then Monday - Friday to vote.
Spaces things out pretty well, keeps the polls open long enough that everybody gets a fair shot.

7+ days, some (hoping most) of us have lives/other stuff going on but still want to participate
Regular week/bi-weekly schedule gets my vote so everyone knows it starts thursday or friday and you simply announce it the day (24hrs) before.
IMHO the frenzy should be in "here's your task.. ALRIGHT GO" and having a tight deadline rather than task after task after task after task with only a day between, that's just begging for burnout (ESPECIALLY since all the kids in school still have tio go to school for another two weeks)
Or most Americans start school in the next month...
For me, school finishes within a week and doesnt resume until september. Just because people are not in school does not mean they are guaranteed to be free, of course. I know full well that i have a few week-long trips to rain-soaked coasts and gin-soaked relatives coming up.

Assignment #2 will be posted tomorrow (friday).
I originally planned it to be a bit larger than the first one, but since this community is impatient even when I've promised 10 contests in rapid succession. We have some community made contests underway (yay). So I have done some restructuring in my plans and this next one will be another small task.

Oh god damn it Francis... I'm away most of tomorrow and Saturday, and laptop battery and Hammer go together like overweight men and gym memberships. Oh well, I'll still have a go

3. Also 7 days? I am not sure about this one. It would be really useful for people who have busy lives and need to plan accordingly.
