Hey guys, I haven't been here in a long time. I wanted to show you a map I've been working on, and maybe get some play testing out of it. I've only played with bots so far and they don't like the roof. :\

Somehow I doubt that that roof is going to hold up that concrete block. (Correct me if it's not actually on the roof, looks like it though.)

I know its kind of early, but the displacement ground looks a bit weird. Might want use a dirt texture, at least to begin with. You can always change the texture when you figure out the theme.

Looks nice, but I haven't really had a chance to play the map yet.

I'm concerned about where you decided to put your cp, though. Giving teams height advantage right next to the point can be a huge issue, especially when there isn't any immediate way up. If an attacker shows up on the roof while you capture the point, you'll be in a terrible position to fight. This makes capturing feel extremely akward, and as a result nobody will want to stand on the point unless they absolutely have to. It just doesn't feel good when you're forced to stand somewhere you would never want to stand for an extended period of time.

Some of the most fun areas in the game either give people standing on the cp an advantage, or provide a large capture zone with cover in case you need to dodge enemy fire while capping.

Some of this might be more my opinion than fact, maybe some people enjoy being really vulnerable while standing on a control point, but I personally feel like it's a problem.

Thanks for all the comments fellas, I will take all of them into consideration.

Moose: That was kind of my intention with the point actually, to create some sort of tension near the middle of the map. During my testing with the bots it was quite enjoyable taking the point after fighting so hard for it. It was much more rewarding than say... Viaduct. But similar to what you said, it may just be my opinion. If I could get this tested with some real people I think it would really help to determine whether it truly is a problem or not.

Like Fr0Z3n, and Lemmines have suggested I might add more cover in the form of a small roof or something to the cap point. We shall see...

Another issue was the possibility of having a staircase or something near the capture point leading to the walkways right above it. Again though, not sure its necessary until I can test it.

And yes I'm aware its ridiculous to have a concrete block on the roof, its just a place holder that happen to be the size I wanted.

I agree with ya Scorpio, its already been changed.

Thanks guys!
