Men, its been a hard and long contest. A lot of good maps where lost, but those that remained stayed strong and made it to the end.

Find out who won at our winners page here --> winners page

Congrats to the winners, and those who managed to stay in the contest till the end. For those that dropped early, there's a special hell for you (2fort).

Winners, you will be contacted later today or tomorrow regarding your prizes.

Thanks!

With only 4 symmetrical maps i kinda feel bad for the many asymmetrical that stood less of a chance for winning by default of the fact that they had more competition. I personally thought the maps were gonna be judged together. Balance is balance and aesthetics are aesthetics whether a map is symmetrical or not.

Congratulations to the winners, though. Hopefully if you didn't get a prize you still acquired valueble knowledge from your experience.

My God, who combined all the official judge reviews into one thread.

That's way too much text for anyone to reasonable tackle. Not to mention the different post times and review formats used by each individual judge make the thread a mess to look at.

Regarding the prizes, you're gonna have to wait until sunday evening or monday (central time), because I'm gonna be out of town and i will have very slow internet access from my phone, which may or may not work. All I will be able to do is browse forums.

Congrats to everyone, don't think symmetrical and asymmetrical maps should have been judged together though since there is a big difference in playstyle between 5cp and A/D. (that's how they ended up being split anyway) but it is true that the symmetrical had less competition.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who participated played and voted :)

...don't think symmetrical and asymmetrical maps should have been judged together though since there is a big difference in playstyle between 5cp and A/D...

If i had made a symmetrical A/D map do you think it should be judged along side the 5cp? You seem to be under the impression that a distinction between 5CP and A/D was implied when it was not. The constant was CP and the distinction was symmetry in any form. 5CP playing differently from A/D has nothing to do with it. The contest was symmetry vs asymmetry with control points. Not 5CP vs A/D.

It just so happens that symmetry is easier in 5CP and assymmetry in A/D designs and so this was the trend. If i entered a symmetrical A/D map i'd have had a 60% chance of winning a prize as opposed to an assymetrical A/D map which would have had a 7% chance (and not through any favour in the community but simply because the judging system made it this way).
