A lot of people will have a map done after 48 hours (I think), they will then want to do an impromptu and this will probably result in having a few guys playtested their maps and having a few guys who are angry because people got bored after playing a few maps and didn't want to play theirs. :/

This sounds to me as good a reason as any for restricting testing.

This isn't a contest about refining a layout. Part of the point of the contest is to make an entire functioning map without a lot of time or resources on your hands. The "no testing" rule adds to the pressure.

Thankfully Muffin is going to be running this and as he seems to have the same ideas as me and since I want to be happy, his ideas being the same as mine will make me happy. Go you, Muffin.

When the contest occurs, to put it bluntly, u mad bro, gtfo (If you don't like the rules you don't have to participate :D)

Mostly time, less so resources. I'd like to see how you manage a no testing rule.

littleedge never ever use bro again. It's insulting to the lax players to be associated with you.

Let people map the way they want to. Every hour spent testing is an hour not spent on mapping anyway and similarly every hour spent detailing is an hour not spent working on the layout. People who'll want to test and detail will only undermine themselves layout-wise anyway.

I'd much rather have a "You have three days. Come back with a map." contest than a "You have three days. You must not do this and this. Come back with a map that has this and doesnt have this".

I'm still more or less against the idea of testing for the reasons I've stated, but it seems that allowing testing is a popular option, and I'm not going to force this rule on anyone just because I want it. Consider the change considered.

I only found out about this contest too late, just as it was starting, but I'd like it if a future 72-hour contest were run over a weekend (so Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday). Starting on a Monday like this one does means I can't reasonably take part, as the workday would interfere too much.

Woah, it's already been a year since the first one :O
Nice to see the contest has become annual!
