Not a request really, just a question for people who actively view this forum.
Are there any concept artists on this forum by any chance who needs a modeler to model his stuff? I've got my own ideas but have a hard to getting them on paper, or rather on 3DS Max. I know I'm in need of a concept artist for modeling weapons, and map props. Any map props I design (Much like the coat rack below) will be submitted here, and any finished weapons will be submitted to Valve after much C&C.

Here are a few things I've modeled. Some finished, some ditched.

With Texture, thanks to Jman, creator of the Jag.

Just monitor the requests forum. We can always use another "on-call" modeler around here.

My plan with modeling is to be able to one day get to the point that I can do concept art enough for myself, model, texture those models, and make maps.

For now, I'd like to just practice modeling for mappers.
If a map designer needs a model, I expect some form of concept art before modeling.

Which I will be sure to do in the future if I make requests for models, now that I know you're around. Thanks for the heads-up.

...Actually, there is something I was thinking about requesting and debating whether to do concept art for (I figured some of the modelers here would prefer to do the designing part themselves rather than have the details dictated to them, but I had a specific image in my head). If you're looking for something to practice on, I can have the sketches drawn up by tomorrow afternoon.

Sure. I'd really like to see my work used in game as well. :p

Right now, I'm working on a new weapon for TF2 called the "Cannon Buster". It'll be a weapon for the Soldier.

I whipped up a quick sphere and attached a cylinder to it and angled the edges out so it looked more like a cannon. I created a plane, added a Shell modifier to it and then proceeded with a cloth modifier to add the droopy effect. I've almost got the effect I want.
I want the cloth to swing around the barrel a few times to really simulate a make-shift shock absorber. The cloth will be between the barrel and the boards.
I plan to next create a spline that'll wrap around the middle part of the barrel. Only then will I convert the spline to an editable poly and "Extrude Along Spline" so that I can simulate that it's a rope.
