Use C#, Rexy. It's cool and easy to get to grasps with if you already know a bit about OOP, based on what I've learnt over the past week or so.

Oh and I'm also learning Unity. I have a pretty cool game idea which can be easily expanded. (No. It's not Ducks with Afros with Bazookas.) That'll take up a chunk of free time hopefully.

Is it Duke with an afro and bazooka?

If you wanna learn programming, learn C first to get all the hard stuff out of way. Then learn an OOP language like C++, Java, C# etc.

I'll mainly be working on Propane over the summer. That and learning (hopefully) how to model either during the summer or later on when I need to do it for Propane. I will also look at learning more to do with C# since Unity and XNA uses it. I've done a wee bit but not much. Right now though, I'm just playing about with Stencyl. Who knows what'll happen by the end of summer, eh? I would like to have more to add to a portfolio though, so a scene in the UDK or a small koth/arena map for TF2 could be good to work on as well.

I'm getting drafted :C

But until August I'll probably try to finish up a detailed version of galilee or something like that. Same with getting my driver's license.

Over the summer I'm gonna feel bad about myself because I don't know and am incapable of teaching myself any languages, programming or otherwise.

I'm thinking of buying the 11 Day Level Design package after reading the free ebooks he released a couple weeks ago. Been meaning to try out UDK for a good long time. I've also started modelling with blender, although it was only for like an hour (still doing exams). Hoping to make some assets for a payload map I have planned called pl_doppleganger (you heard it here first)

A lot of you dudes are learning programming which is neat :) Like Seba I can't teach myself programming at all so I'm relying on what software modules I can do on an electrical engineering course (C, C++ next year).

Learning to model sounds like something that could be really usefull :D

But i have'nt really found any good tutorials yet :S

:crying:

I went here for a little bit, useful, probably not the best, but I made a soda can easily... I was used 3dsMax btw.

CGTuts is a great place, actually. I used it first when I was having my hand at blender.

Right now I'm probably overloading myself on things to do this summer (probably because I don't really have a defined "summer" period due to not being in school any longer).

First up is finishing a CTF map that I put on hold to enter the control points contest. Getting a playable alpha shouldn't take me too long as everything is pretty much in place, it's just a matter of making sure it works.

I'm also trying to teach myself Blender for 3D modeling purposes.

Lastly I may or may not be working on an Android-based game with my younger brother, so I'm currently re-learning Java. At the same time I also want to learn how to use Unity beyond the little I do know how to do but I of course know I'd have to learn Java Script or C# to do that.
