I don't really like it because of the leveling that takes forever and the fact I am bad at it

That's why it has easy, normal, hard, suicidal and "hell on earth" modes.

If you play it with experienced mates they'll show you the best hold out spots and you can get higher perk players to buy the tier 3 weapons for you until you can afford them yourself.

You'll also find half the perks you will level inadvertantly just through playing the game as they don't require you to play that perk in order to level, such as sharpshooter (headshots by any class), support (welding by any class), commando (bullpop (a good side arm for any perk) vs stalkers), berserker (melee by any class), medic (healing by any class). By the time i came to level my medic, berserker and support i was already half way to level 4 out of 6 in all of them after levelling my sharp-shooter and commando.

I played it during Glados@Home and I just really didn't get into it. I don't know if I was playing a bad map or something but it got really repetitive and chorey really quickly. That said I only played it once, I wasn't really motivated to play any more after that game.

Here are some tips for the 7 of you i've seen playing:

Use a bullpop as a sidearm to your demo-man. You'll level your commando inadvertantly whilst also giving you close combat efficiency keeping you alive longer.
Use the lever action rifle or handcannon as a sidearm for berserker to kill crawlers, they'll deal the most damage to you and wear away your armour really quickly.
If you level your medic first you can start each wave with free armour saving you £300 + 50% if you have to replace it.
Always heal your team mates first unless you think your team will wipe if you die, not only does it give you money and 2 heals rather than 1, but it levels your medic perk even if you're not a medic.

@Randdalf: some maps are a lot harder than others due to both zombie spawns and shop placement. aperture, icebreaker, santa's lair, hospital horrors and bedlam are the hardest maps. Westlondon, biotics lab, mountain pass and manor are easy as pie.

I was probably on some custom map or something then because I was on some sort of island next to a coastal road and there was this forest in the middle. A lot of time was spent walking places.

A lot of the custom maps have been white-listed by Tripwire, so they're good to play, and good thing too because the same few maps get old after a while. There are some maps you won't gain any exp points on because they're not white-listed.

I've heard a lot of things about why people don't like this game, bad art, bad levels, darkness, plot line holes--my opinion is that the game is overall a lot of fun, and that's what makes me play it. A game could have amazing art and crazy cool story lines, etc, but if it's not any fun, I'm not interested.

I'm hosting a server for kf right now mostly so I could play around with ssh on an old computer but I could turn it into a tf2m only server easily.

Anyone still consistently play this? I've got a lv. 6 Support Specialist and working up a lv. 6 Demolitions. Wouldn't mind having some TF2maps buds to play with.
