I havent really played a lot after it, but I like all of them very much. The pyro is the one class I felt like there was something missing, and the air blast was just that <3

Pyro was gimped before. Statistics proved it. He is supposed to be the best point blank combat class, now I think he probably is after the rocket nerf.

I love the flaregun, it is soooooo annoying for other people getting shot by it (I shoot damn well with it) than you axe them off.
Also the reflecting bullets is overpowered but its just awesome as well. TBH valve should update all in one. Now I see publics that are ALL pyros vs ALL pyros and that's what I hate.

Yea, too many pyro farmers..

I joined a server and the only class i could handle being as was soldier (funnily enough). Pyro's see a soldier and go "i get to use the deflection ability on you!" Then end up wasting all their ammo using it. It was quite easy to taunt a pyro as soldier (not the actual taunt ability) because of the promise of the update. They think suddenly just because of the new ability they have an advantage when they just wasted their time spamming their new class abilities.

It'll all be over soon though, just as the medic update was. Because the medic had an advantage it just wasn't that apparent; as it was a support class not intended for assault.

I had considered maybe it would have been better if they had released them all at once. It would have meant the game was balanced most of the time, but this means people can gradually get the achievements rather than doing a "GTA" or "WoW" as it were, by sitting at home non stop getting everything asap.

Its gonna be good once I get on tonight and pwn all the newbs :)
Sucks that I haven't been around to try it.

I'll have to see, I'm sure that it'll be just like the med update.
Crazy meds for 3 weeks, then stupid battlemeds for months to come.

While I think the additions are cool to the game Valve completely screwed it by doing one class at a time. I have still yet to get all med achievements during normal gameplay, finally gave into achievement server to get the Kritz since everyone else had em.

I really don't know what they were thinking, should've been:
update 1: One new weapon for each class, maybe 10-15 achievemnts per class.
update 2: another weapon per class.

yeah they should have done a few achieves at a time, for all classes, with only one weapon(for each class) in each update

I love it! Since the update I feel myself in a shooting gallery with Sniper. Pyros just do their business between eachother, and all I have to worry about is aiming properly. :D

Also, I see Engineers having a happy time too, since Pyro is not the best choice against a sentry. :D

Anyway, it's much less irritating than it was after the Medic update. :D

i give it a week before they put out a patch to "fix" pyros.

atm they are wicked over powered.

If you stay and fight a pyro you will burn and die FAST.
if you run away from a pyro you will burn and die FASTER.

if you stay at range from a pyro they will get you with the flare.
If you build turrets they will shoot it with a flare.

I love the class before the update, it was my second favorite *Heavy/Pyro* I can't stand to play it anymore, i feel "dirty".. Same reason i never play soldier OMG!!1 CRIT ROCKETS111 LAWLS!!1

Pyro has been always my favourite class next to spy. I think the updates are very fair, I like the new weapons but I can't play Pyro too much because the farmers, so I'll wait until the farmers realize they're too n00bs too play Pyro.

I guess it'll be that way untill they upgrade the other classes.. The flare isn't that powerful, it does hardly anything to sentries and as long as there's some nearby health to stop the burning again, it is just an annoyance. The burning lasts for ages afterwards, this is my only gripe, it does like 100 damage over time.

I'd agree that getting into flamer distance suddenly your chances of living are like 20% so your only chance now is to kill them first and hope there's someone nearby that's sensible enough to be a medic to stop the burning.

edit: I'd say the classes are becoming more defined with these updates as previously any class could be used to assualt with. Each had it's perks but they were sort of samy in comparison to TFC. I suppose some of this was brought about by nerfing the heavies moderate damage at a distance and boosting the scouts damage output. A scout was pretty much ONLY a flag runner and now he's a contender in any gun fight. Now, each classes roles are being emphasised.

The flare gun is like a redesign of the napalm rocket launcher. It feels a lot like the old TFC pyro now. It's certainly not as overpowered too the shotgun as the new syringe gun was.

You're exagerating, It doesn't make 100 over time. I've been playing as Scout, beeing burned tons of times without dieing.

Pyro isn't overpowered now, it's just fair. It has been the 2nd less played class, I've been using it for months, it's a very hard class too use, with updates or without them, it's hard. You think they are overpowered just because all servers are 70% Pyros, so you've been killed all the time by Pyros. Just wait some weeks before saying it's overtweaked.

To the edit: I haven't played TFC but yes, I think they're tweaking the classes so they are good at where they're supposed to be good. Now the Pyro is a very good close range class, It wasn't before.

And i rather prefer the shotgun than the Flare Gun. Flare gun only makes like 20 damage, I think shotgun is far better, you can burn the enemies and then finish off them with the shotgun, you can't do it with the flare gun.

almost everything about the pyro update is just awesome, I actively hate the soldier class and love this chance to shoot their rockets back at them. (something that is beyond easy if you don't have terrible timing)
My one gripe is the removal of the fall-off damage, with the flame being at full damage everywhere its just far too easy to use.

And you people have far too many issues <_< with the pyro update I started to use heavy, he still actively destroys pyros if the gun is spun up, which is exactly what it was before.

And...the flaregun is not that useful for battle or destroying sentries, it takes about 5 shots to destroy a sentry, and with that long of a reload time, then the other team has to be really crappy to get it to work. Its greatest use is mainly to confuse people and screw over snipers...otherwise...the shotgun is likely your better bet for doing damage.
