Nice try, fishbus.

Damn, my covers been blown! Nah, you'd think if Fishbus was gonna promote this game in the guise of a TF2M member he'd choose a more regular poster... Also my amazingly amazing character:

I've watched the thebrink.tv do streams over the past 2 days. 5v5 matches between randoms. Not really organized teams, but it certainly seems most of them know each other from other games and communities.

I too have a little trouble matching the reviews to what I've seen streamed.
It actually looks pretty decent. The level these guys play on are obviously pretty low, with it being 2 days old and people without tactics/voice.

For heaven's sake, D2D! EVERYTHING has gone wrong with that site, it literally has the shittiest service I've ever come across. The keys have been missing for 2 days now. And I think I've previously mentioned how insanely difficult it was to actually purchase the game.

Hopefully they'll release the keys by the end of the day so I can preload the game for tomorrow...

I don't know, I've seen a few reviews and gameplay vids now and to me it just looks too much like COD and not enough like an original and good FPS. The huge variety in weapons and stuff is actually a bad thing imo because it means in a month or so people will have figured out what the 2-3 best weapons are and it'll have gotten old by then, that's my prediction

And to be fair Icarus you were all over MNC when it was released too and have never played it the last month or so. I'm gonna wait a month or two and see how people like the game once it's settled but I don't have much hope I'll want to play it

I think the issue is people doing a FULL review a day into or before the release when multiplayer is not properly working.

Why would you review a game based on multiplayer when multiplayer is not 100% and should be corrected within the week?

Also i feel the game is reviewed by the CoD generation much like MMORPG's are reviewed by the WoW generation and because of this reviews used to be of use and now all i can hear when i read them is whinny kids.

I enjoy the game a lot. YES it has bugs, YES it has a bit of issues but i see the underlining innovations of the game and can't wait till it is all corrected.

I KNEW this would be the case, looks like the console version is just a shit port of a good PC game. No surprise there really since it's from a PC focussed developer.

and it couldn't be more true. If you have a second check out the Brink main forums.. all it is is console kiddies bitching.

You guys are weird. This game is awesome and I love it! Doesn't feel generic at all, and is most definitely not a CoD shooty shooty bang bang deathmatch game.

I don't know why so many reviewers put so much weight on the single player campaign when it's clearly a multiplayer-focused game.

Isn't black ops story 2hours long?

I watched IGN's review and I was throughly pissed. They gave the game a 6.0.

They backed it up saying the game was repetitive. REALLY?! Lolhi I ply black ops ad de only mode is dwth mwtch.

Honest, I don't understand where they reviewers are coming up with their scores. Brink is the only title to blend parkour and FPS, while there are 9 CODS with near perfect scores on the reviewers sites.

Edit: just watched AOTS rip Brink a new one. I don't understand them.

From what Ive seen and played, the game is great fun! I'm really not sure why some of the "issues" these reviewers are going on about are bad. Having to change class to suit objective from time to time? Oh no, that sounds horrible how ever will I be stubborn and only try one class now? Reviews defiantly should have waited atleast 2 weeks or so to review, the game's community needs time to mature.

People/reviewers are disappointed because it wasn't a console shooter like they expected. This game should be a PC game through and through.

Some reviewers don't even make sense. One of them complains that secondary objectives and class variety isn't significant enough to try, then go and complain that the game always results in a stalemate (ie have you tried capping E on Steel without any of the outer CPs? same deal)

I'm just saying, if you're itching for a new multiplayer shooter, get Brink, reviewers be damned.

joystiq and ign are full retard, dont ever listen to those sites, god help you if you have in the past

like ravidge, i've been watching thebrink.tv and it looks really great, the only complaints i've heard so far are things that will be fixed in a patch

the developers are splash damage, they're great.

This game will unlock in approximately 3 hours

Really 3 hours? since when do days shift at 2am instead of 00:00

pfft and yet even then I don't have time to play it until Sunday!
It is really annoying to hear all those complaints and see bad reviews about a game you have ordered yet can't play yet. However from what I've seen I liked it and I am indeed itching for a new mp shooter right now. I also never really cared about reviews other then getting an insight, which gameplay shows better then just some journalist who can play anything he wants writing up a story about it.
Bugs happen get over it, the game still is original enough.
Also strange that bad console ports happen all the time yet are accepted nowadays but when a PC developer turns this trick around all hell breaks lose.
Or maybe the amount of flaming is just another way to show the maturity of the console community.

Heck I wish I could actually play this game to participate in this discussion properly, I am really wondering what all the fuss is about now.

So you're saying you're tired of neighsayers? ;)

I'm a HUGE neighsayer in general however what i don't agree with is people who whine and complain over something they know nothing about.

game works great on pc/ps3

The future of this game really relies on how Splash Damage will continue to support the game in the future. A lot of posts in this thread have been "EVERYONE IS TELLING ME NOT TO BUY IT!!" well yeah I'm telling people not to buy it yet because I just don't know how well the game is going to be patched in the future with balance tweaks (the "people using only the top 3 builds" effect trotim was mentioning) as well as some serious stability problems that I hope get patched soon, because I'd like to see the game take off.

So yeah I'm saying "don't buy it yet, but don't strike it off your list either".

also it sounds like a lot of people are whining that the game isn't about spamming projectiles like TF2 is, what's up with that

For me it wasn't really that, i found the game weapon selections boring and it was too much all classes begin able do the most of the job instead them having any real place in the fight.
It has good ideas, but they just don't feel like they have been taken to their best possible potential, not to mention everything is broken right now.

They got to patch and update hell out of this game to get me play more.
