Problem is, if no one buys it, they'll see little reason to fix the issues with it, and then it will die a slow painful death.

Is there at least an SDK?

Yeah I'm going to pass on this game. The gameplay (which I can finally see now that people are uploading videos) doesn't look terribly exciting. Kill people with assault rifles as assault class. Switch to medic and use an assault rifle. Then mix it up and use an assault rifle as engineer or operative. Wow what game does that remind me of?

At this point they're gonna need a lot more than "lol we have 8 billion character model combinations" to convince me to buy it.

It's also only been out for a day so I doubt people have mastered the gameplay yet.

Not that I don't agree with you, but it's hard to judge a game by just a few videos less than a day after it was released.

Sure. I'm not exactly giving it an objective review here. But the way I see it a new game like this needs to convince me it's worth my time over other MP games - something Brink is in no way doing.

I hope people have a good time with it. But I'm afraid I'm sitting this one out.

I'm more hung up about how buggy it is than the gameplay. Both are very easy to patch, though, so I have hope.

My computer's apparently too ancient and it doesn't like my video card, so I can't currently run it.

Got a chance to play my copy on my brother's machine, and god-damn I was enjoying the multi-player.. and now I'm looking at getting a new machine so I can play it more. :O

And once I got the hang of the command console, played a ton of Soldier and havn't used a assault rifle since. Shotty powah.

Apparently Australia is part of Europe too. So, pre-loaded but there are plenty of people in the "Australian brink group" that are playing RIGHT NOW. I guess I should've bought with location as US like I did with L4D2.

Yep, seeing the word "assault rifle" 3 times in one post describing the gameplay is more then enough to convince me to not get it...hate games that rely on assault rifles.

"Brink is unfinished. And that doesn't mean it's full of technical problems. Well, it's got those too. But mostly, it's just an unpolished, poorly executed mess of ideas."

Seems like a classic example of spending much more $$$ on promo campaign than on the development

It deffinately needs to mix the weaponry up a bit. Grenade launchers and shotuns wouldn't go a-miss. Or at least better shotguns, i didn't see it in the site gameplay footage from what i recall it was all assault rifles and pistol sidearms.

I *know* I've been sniped before. The weapon list might be tailored to body types. Don't think I saw the minigun on the medium's list, for instance (since he can't use it). Maybe the sniper rifle's in the lights? Or in the Secondary list. The little time I had playing it I didn't really give Secondary list a good read.

There are sniper rifles, they are just called the "light rifles". They are all but useless for sniping unless you have the bigass sniper scope from one of the challenges.

I love this game. I'd highly recommend it. I really like the huge variety in weapons and attachments, though it does seem to be lacking in shotguns and non spray and pray guns. I have to say though, using the Mossington Shotgun and Rtichie Revolver/Hockler MP is soo much fun as a medium build operative. The character customization is neat, and all the abilities you can unlock are cool. All the real game changing ones you can get straight away, the newer ones just mix it up a bit.

I find there is always something to do even if you aint on the main objective. Operatives can open shortcuts and disguise to sneak behind enemy lines, spot mines and hack their turrets. Or you can help with the main mission, a lot of variety. The SMART system is fun as well, with the "Parkour this" Challenge mode really using it to its fullest.

You guys are weird. This game is awesome and I love it! Doesn't feel generic at all, and is most definitely not a CoD shooty shooty bang bang deathmatch game.

I don't know why so many reviewers put so much weight on the single player campaign when it's clearly a multiplayer-focused game.
