An Important Note:

Generally the beta is the place where we do design testing, so the game itself is fairly stable. But today we’re releasing a large update specifically for the purpose of stability testing. In particular, we’re testing out our new Replay system, which has been in the works for over a year. As a result, a large amount of code has changed. We wanted to ship it to the beta first, where we can get the bugs ironed out, before we move it out to the main TF2 branch. So please jump in and take a look – we’d love to hear feedback on the UI as well as any bugs you run into.

Also, we'll be wiping all items in the beta at some point in the near future. We will re-grant the achievement items, and any items we're actively tuning afterward.

Gameplay:
Bots:
Bots now work on Payload maps
Added payload to Offline practice
Spy bots!

Medic:
The Quick-Fix:
Megaheal (the uber) effect now also applies to the medic

Detonation particle effect increased to better match the radius

Soldier:
Reduced rage generation rate with Battalion’s Backup by 50%

Spy:
Fixed a bug that prevented domination lines from being played with the Eternal Reward

I'm guessing Coaching and Voting are beta stuff for Dota 2. Remember when they said you'd be able to drop in and tutor someone in there? It could apply to TF2 as well.

This is speculation, of course. I'm sure an official answer will come out soon.

Also, spybots and payloadbots.

coaching is useless. just spam commands that dont really help and troll people. i guess i can see it being somewhat useful when your recruiting a nooby and what not.....but yeah good for trolling.

Except, when, you know, those coaches aren't trolls.

Don't forget the whole "Was the coach good?" system Valve put in. Probably would eventually weed out some of the trolls.

Until trolls start saying other trolls were good.

Holy freaking crap, the Replay system is finally coming. I was wondering if we were going to be seeing it soon after the Steam Screenshots thing went in...

Fairly sure this is one of those accepted signs of the impending apocalypse.

Ugh shit. koth_badlands? arena_badlands was bad enough. I don't like this idea of this.

However, the bots working on payload maps: I thought they worked already if you generated a nav mesh (on Upward, anyway. Haven't tried any of the other pl_ maps).
Unless that means that nav meshes have actually been added to the game by Valve.

And Spy bots. SPY BOTS. ASDASDASDASDASDASD MY DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE AND SO DID I BUT NOT TRUE

koth_badlands is great. i think it and arena could just use a little more width near the gray bridge so they both dont get so chokey...
