AUVIO Retro Stereo Headphones are what I have currently, they're pretty good. They're probably at radioshack.

gaming headset or walk-down-street-hipster heaphones?

my gaming headset is a plantronics one, my old one was really good but this one lacks bass, awesome design and comfortable though, just odd sound EQ.

The Skullcandy Ink'd earbuds work really well and they are cheap if you're looking for something for just casual listening. If it is gaming then I'd go with turtle beach

I have Sennheiser CX 300-II earbuds, and they have really really excellent sound quality. I use them for absolutely everything, listening to music, editing audio/video, gaming. Obviously these Sennheisers don't have a microphone, so you might want a full headset if you need it for gaming

Depending on what you would need the headphones for:

-almost any one (buds hurt after a while) for listening to your ipod
-can't recommend anything if you own a studio and need to be extremely precise
-gaming (pc only) the Megalodon's by Razer: http://store.razerzone.com/store/ra...parentCategoryID.35096300/categoryId.40856100 Costs $50 less than the Turtle Beach ones
-gaming (xbox, ps3, pc) the Turtle Beach one discussed before

like others before me have said, plantronics are good. right now I have a .Audio 655 DSP and it has been good so far. It survived my heavy uses and got carried around in several LANs without any problems.
tho I'd probably get some Sennheiser if I had the money :\

Don't get skullcandy.
Don't get bose.

get just about anything else in your price range with good ratings (check cnet and other sites like that)

I own a pair of sennheiser hd280s, they are wonderful.

For earbuds i would recomend these , they dont have amazing bass but they still bring down the mids and raise the bass and trebble but most mp3 players i have used have equalizers to compensate if that is what your looking for.

My friend has a pair of sennheiser sound canceling over ear headphones and they are extremely nice but they are expensive, not sure what the price was though or the model.

I'd stay away from skullcandy, bose, and beatz because your paying for the name not quality.

Actually the Skullcandy Ink'd earbuds I suggested are very good quality for the money I paid for them. They have a better range then the other earbuds I saw at the same price range, they are very durable, and they have a gold plated jack so you get more contact. For around $19 they hold up really well as compared to Jvc or Apple earbuds. Personally if I was going to get Bose headphones I'd stay away from the earbuds because they aren't as durable but cost almost as much as the around or on ear ones (plus I'd rather not pay $100 for earbuds). Beats headphones aren't worth it at all, they just hide the sound quality by turning up the bass on them.

I'm not denying that the ink's buds aren't good for the price, i have had probably a pair of every headphones they make because i like the look of them better and my android phone with power amp allows me to tweak the quality to the headphones, i'm just saying once u go past the Titans and maybe the Hesh headphones your mainly paying a premium for styling.
